About this project

The Shathi Inclusive Feed Mill Project is designed to strengthen the livestock value chain by ensuring access to affordable, high-quality feed for rural farmers—especially women. In many rural areas, female livestock farmers face challenges such as high feed prices, inconsistent quality, and limited mobility to procure inputs from distant markets. These barriers reduce livestock productivity and directly impact household income. This project addresses those gaps by building a localized, women-led feed production and distribution system under the Shathi ecosystem.

In Natore, Shathi will utilize a feed mill established by Amra Shadhin Cooperative to produce nutritionally balanced, quality-controlled livestock feed. By leveraging existing cooperative infrastructure, the project ensures cost optimization while maintaining feed standards. Beyond production, Shathi will work closely with female cooperatives to create a last-mile delivery network, making feed easily accessible to women farmers within their communities. This model reduces transport burdens, ensures consistent supply, and strengthens women’s participation in the rural economy.

Through improved feed quality and reliable distribution, the project aims to enhance livestock productivity, increase weight gain and milk yield, and improve farmer profitability. At the same time, it creates additional income opportunities for women through cooperative management and distribution roles.

Questions investors ask

What exactly am I buying?

A unit of participation in one production cycle. You are funding inputs and production, not lending at interest. The return depends on how the cycle performs and what the output sells for.

What happens if the cycle underperforms?

Returns can land below the estimated band, and in a severe case capital can be lost. Risk is reduced through graded inputs, veterinary cover, weekly monitoring, cooperative verification and buyers arranged before the sale — but it is not removed.

Can I withdraw early?

Refunds are available within 15 days of the project start date. After that the capital is committed to the cycle and cannot be withdrawn until maturity.

How do I follow the project?

Milestone updates, monthly financial summaries and impact data arrive in the Shathi app and by SMS through the cycle.

How is the farmer paid?

After project costs and the investor payout, up to 50% of the remaining profit goes to the Shathi partner. The split is agreed in writing before the cycle begins.
